Halfway House Beds for Federal Defendants

In response to a need expressed by the U.S. District Court, PSA entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the D.C. Department of Corrections (DOC) in August 2012 to procure bed space for federal pretrial defendants arrested and ordered by the U.S. District Court into halfway houses as a condition of pretrial release. By providing this contracted service, PSA has expanded the options available to the Court for higher risk defendants that are eligible for release into the community, but otherwise would face detention.
